Toys For Tots

The American Legion District 13 is supporting the Toys For Tots campaign in Central Virginia and we are already receiving new and unwrapped toys; the drive will continue until November 17, 2023.

Toys for Tots is a program run by the Marine Corps Reserve that focuses on providing toys to disadvantaged children during the holiday season. Their goal is to bring joy and holiday spirit to children who may not receive gifts otherwise by collecting and distributing new, unwrapped toys. This program helps create positive memories and makes the holiday season brighter for young kids, fostering a sense of happiness and well-being.

This year the American Legion has coordinated three collection drop off points.

  • Site #1: Office of Edward Jones Financial Advisors, located at 115 West Main Street, Louisa. The collection box is located inside common areas of the office building

from 8:30AM - 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

  • Site #2: Collection Box at the VFW Post 8947, located at 201 Mineral Ave, Mineral, VA 23117. Open Fridays from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

  • Site #3: Collection Box at the Blue Ridge Shores Office, 924 S. Lakeshore Drive, Louisa. They accept drop-offs from 9AM - 3:30PM, mainly for residents of BRS.

  • #4: Santa Helpers available for dispatch! The American Legion members are acting as Santa Helpers and stationed in different parts of Louisa County ready to be dispatched to collect your toy donations. To request a Santa Helper, please email Legion_Post116@outlook.com with your name, phone number, and the location where a Santa Helper can meet with you.

Donations of new, unwrapped toys are being accepted until November 17th this year.
