Blue Star Families is a non-profit organization that provides resources, programs, and support to military families across the United States. The organization was founded in 2009 and has since grown to become a nationwide network of military families, service members, and veterans. Blue Star Families offers a variety of programs and services to support military families, including educational programs, caregiver support, mental health resources, job training and employment assistance, and community building events. The organization also conducts research and advocacy to inform policies that impact military families. Blue Star Families' mission is to strengthen military families and connect them to their communities through programs that provide resources, guidance, and opportunities for support. The organization serves all branches of the military, including active duty, National Guard, Reserve, and veterans, as well as military spouses, children, and parents. Blue Star Families is supported by a network of volunteers, sponsors, and donors, and is recognized as a leading organization in the military family support space.
The Blue Star Families of Central Virginia's Mission:
Support fellow Blue Star members and their friends and family members who are serving or who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States of America
Share educational information to benefit the members and their families
Support our military personnel through various service activities
Support Veteran Organizations, activities and events
Promote causes that will benefit military personnel through a Military Advocacy Program
